A Broker's Role

In order to utilize a broker effectively, it is important that we are contacted as soon as possible in the settlement process. This way we can assist you in creating a greater savings and a Win-Win situation for earlier settlements. Our role is simply to provide you with our expertise and creative solutions to assist in both sides coming to a settlement sooner by way of a Structured Settlement. The procedures for placing a structured annuity are as follows:

Our service is free

The details of the plaintiff are given to us. We will require the name, date of birth, date of accident, family details (married, children…) and a Future Cost of Care report if available, in order to properly assess the claim for a structure.

We will provide you with up to the minute structure costs and any other information that is relevant to the claim. Structure costs are valid for three (3) working days and are therefore for illustration purposes only.

We will meet with the plaintiff to design a personalized annuity plan to best suit their needs and desires.

We provide counsel with draft closing documentation that meet with Canada Customs and Revenue Agency’s requirements

Once a specific annuity plan has been chosen, we shop the full annuity market to obtain and lock in the best possible rates at the time of purchase and use all available tools.

We review your closing documents to confirm that they meet the requirements set out by Canada Customs and Revenue Agency for the payments to flow free of income tax to the plaintiff.

We fill out the annuity applications and have them signed by the casualty insurers. If there is to be an assignment of ownership, we complete these documents and arrange for signature from all parties involved.

Upon receipt of the signed Release or Judgment and completed annuity contracts, we distribute all contracts accordingly. We include our Corporate Guarantee that states that we take on the life long service of the contract, free of charge.

We supply the casualty insurer with our structured settlement report outlining the details of the annuity.

We supply plaintiffs with our corporate guarantee.
